ER TAPE – Not all Silicone Tape is Made Equal!

There are many offerings of silicone tape on the internet and available in various retail stores. What most people fail to recognize is that there are only a handful of actual MANUFACTURERS of this tape. Rowe Industries is a proud leader in the manufacturing and distribution of silicone rubber products including Silicone Tape and Silicone Wire, such as UL3239 High Voltage Lead Wire. Rowe Industries manufacturers their products in various sizes, shapes, colors, and lengths- and can even run custom orders to meet your specific needs.

ER Tape comes DIRECTLY from the manufacturer, Rowe Industries, whose plant is in Pembroke Park Florida. You may be asking “Why does this matter?” By eliminating the ‘middle man’, we can keep costs down with factory direct prices and better ensure you, our loyal customers, of the products quality and durability (We will elaborate more on this below). Rowe Industries continuously tests their products to meet many customer, UL, and MIL specifications, and can run custom orders to meet or exceed your requirements.

Our silicone compound is a proprietary formula developed by our production and engineering teams over 20+ years ago. The compound is produced directly in house which allows Rowe Industries to control what goes into our tape and what does not. While keeping costs down, Rowe produces a product superior to others.

Many silicone tape suppliers/competitors do not mill their own compound, they use a pre-made product.

When considering your next silicone tape purchase, please keep in mind that not all tape is made equal. We acknowledge there are alternatives out there- but ER Tape stands by our product, the materials that go into it’s formulation, and ensure quality and durability through extensive testing and quality monitoring.

Rowe Industries ER Tape/Versiwrap/Silicone tape meets Mil Spec A-A-59163 Class 1 and is UL 510 recognized.

Versiwrap Silicone Rubber Tape – IDEAL FOR ELECTRICAL USE

Rowe’s Versiwrap Silicone Rubber Tape is an improved wrapping tape extruded of high performance silicone rubber suitable wherever a tough, permanently resilient, void-free insulation is required. On TGL tape (Triangular Guide Line), the colored guide line facilitates wrapping and cuts taping time. The triangular shape assures a smooth, uniform finished wrap over difficult shapes, such as coils, splices, bus bars and cable harnesses. Rowe’s Silicone Rubber Tape is self-adhering and self-fusing, curing in 24 hours at room temperature. Faster curing and a harder finish can be accomplished through the application of heat after wrapping. Temperature range is -60°C t0 200°C for continuous use; -65°C to 260°C for intermittent use. UL 510 recognized.

Uses

The strength and elasticity of Rowe’s Silicone Rubber Tape makes it ideal for automatic wrapping processes, such as for coils, where it protects the coils from the effects of vibration and shock and will not crack or separate with expansion or contraction stresses. The low dielectric losses and high insulation resistance of Rowe’s Silicone Rubber Tape will not limit performance of a coil over a very wide temperature range. The high thermal conductivity allows generated heat to dissipate rapidly resulting in a lower temperature rise and an increase of available power for a given load. The use of Rowe’s Silicone Rubber Tape makes it possible to easily and quickly reclaim old motors by over-wrapping deteriorated insulation. By the same process extra protection may be added to open frame motors or other equipment in difficult or contaminated locations. May be used in many Class A and Class B applications. High quality Class H insulation systems can be made using Rowe’s Silicone Rubber Tape in combination with SR-200 Silicone Rubber Tubing.

For optimum shelf life, silicone rubber tape should be stored in a cool, dry area.

Specifications

Rowe’s Silicone Rubber Tape meets or exceeds the requirements of MIL CID-A-A-59163, Type I, Rectangular; and Type II, Triangular Guide Line.
